1. Hem each end of bottom strip.
2. Run gathering stitches in back edge of bonnet. Gather to fit bias binding, leaving 1/2 inch of bias extended past edge of bonnet at each end. Stitch. Trim seam to 1/4 inch and fold bias 1/2-inch and press on fold. Wrap bias over seam and hand whip on inside of bonnet (fig. 11).
3. Fold loop strip in half and stitch a 1/2-inch seam. Trim seam and turn loop. Cut into three 1-/2-inch pieces.
4. Fold loops and stitch to wrong side of left, hemmed end of bonnet (fig. 12).
5. Sew buttons to right side of right end of bonnet with bullion roses.
6. Tack ribbon to each side of front.
